ANTEROS
Heâd agreed.
Not that Anteros didnât think he was a catch, but Hephaestus was more than a catch. He was something special. Something unique and wonderful and so very surprisingâand sometimes, surprisingly fragile.
Anteros vowed to himself that he would never contribute to the ways the other gods had hurt Hephaestus. He would protect him, and cherish him, and . . . well, hopefully, fuck him, but that was at least as much for Anteros as for Hephaestus.
It was the first time heâd even considered something like this.
Not that Anteros was some innocent child virginâhe was thousands of years old. He knew all about sex. But heâd never before considered having sex with another Olympian. Not with their reputations and his fathersâ overprotectiveness.
So there was an extra flutter in his stomach as he led Hephaestus up to where they had left the mat and the remains of their dinner. He pushed the plates and such to the side, ignoring everything but Hephaestus.
He tossed himself down on the mat, rolling onto his back and capturing Hephaestusâs eye as he made room for them to lie together. At the last minute, he glanced over at the food.
There, the bottle of olive oil.
He snatched it up and tossed it to Hephaestus, who stared at it in surprise. Like heâd thought Anteros was lying to him, or more likely, not thinking things through.
Reaching behind himself, he undid the clasps on his shirtâone at his neck and one at his lower back. He tossed the shirt away into the sand and reached for his trousers, but Hephaestus stopped him, kneeling next to him and gently pushing his hands away.
But not to stop him stripping. No, Hephaestus moved his hands and replaced them with his own. He ran them lightly over Anterosâs fabric-covered hips, then reached for the laces. His nimble fingers played over them easily, untying and loosening and mere seconds later, Anteros was being bared before the avid eyes of the man he was swiftly falling in love with.
Like no one before him, Hephaestus devoured Anteros with his gaze, his bright eyes raking over every inch of skin as he revealed it, as though he were a painter who needed to commit the lines of his subject to memory.
âSo beautiful,â he breathed, the words coming as a bare whisper as he ghosted his hands over Anterosâs hips, his legs, his cock.
He tossed the trousers over to join the shirt, and as his hands reached for the laces of his own pants, he dove forward and engulfed Anterosâs cock with his hot mouth. It was such a contrast to the previous cool water, Ant couldnât hold back a gasp, bucking up into that seeking warmth.
âHephaestus,â he tried to say, but it came out garbled and too high, combined with a whine.
Instead of laughing or seeming put off, Hephaestusâs eyes darkened, his pupils blowing even wider as he looked up to meet Antâs eye.
A moment later his trousers were joining Antâs clothes, but frustratingly enough, Ant still couldnât get a look at him, his body blocked by the way he was bent over .
